Why all kids should be doing more creative activities
Whether it is drawing, painting, cutting, pasting, modelling or making- ALL children love being creative if they are given the chance, and the act of being creative brings with it so many benefits- engaging kids with creative activities helps develop basic motor skills as well as encourage creativity and innovation. While the smaller kids can learn about shapes, colors and drawing, older kids can refine their artistic talents.
Activities for preschoolers can be easy and involve basic drawing or colouring; preschool art activities improve their hand-eye coordination as well as their fine motor skills. You can give kids theme-based activities such as summer art, scissor art, etc. Always supervise & keep children safe with cutting equipment. These activities will give children a sense of accomplishment seeing the end result of their work, and it will keep them busy! Art and creativity activities do wonders for children’s confidence, patience and coordination!
Children will do things in their own unique way & on their own schedule, consistent guidance & support is essential. As well as their constantly evolving physical development, with natural expression of growth & nurture from the people in their life, every child exhibit many different characteristics of personality traits, confidence, thinking, learning boundaries, authority & connection to others.
In order to fully understand your child, you need to take into account, their temperament, age-related developmental tasks, maturity level, situational lifestyle factors and whether they are in a period of balance or imbalance. Embrace their strengths & guide them through their challenges! Never make presumptions or comparisons when it comes to your children’s development- seek assistance from a children’s health professional, it is our passion integrated with formal education & clinical experience which can enable your child to be their best!
